George H. Burgess is coordinator of museum operations at the Florida Museum of Natural History and director of the Florida Program for Shark Research, a member of the federally supported National Shark Research Consortium. He also serves as curator of the International Shark Attack File , a comprehensive scientific database that is recognized as the definitive source of information on shark attacks. Burgess has studied sharks for nearly 40 years and is frequently featured in natural history programs prepared for the BBC, Discovery Channel and National Geographic Channel.
