This field class emphasizes finding, identifying and learning about the many plants and animals inhabiting Yates Mill Pond. We'll meet live animals, experiment with plants and play ecology games. Campers will also tour the historic Mill on-site and learn about this Mill as an integral aspect of rural life in the early days of settlement in Wake County.
Yates Mill Pond is located south of Raleigh near Penny Road. All children must be dropped off and picked up at Yates Mill Pond. Transportation is not available from the Museum to Yates Mill Pond.
