Exultation is the going Of an inland soul to the sea,
Past the houses— past the headlands— Into deep eternity—

– Emily Dickinson

Thursday, August 6–Monday, August 17, 2009

During their 12-day mission, Life on the Edge 2009 researchers and educators from University of North Carolina at Wilmington, US Gological Survey, Florida Atlantic University, Scottish Association for Marine Science, NOAA Fisheries Service, Marine Conservation Biology Institute and North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences will explore the biodiversity, connectivity and habitat associations of the deep reef communities off the Cape Canaveral area of Florida. This is the first in a series of four deep reef related cruises in 2009 that will range from North Carolina through the Gulf of Mexico.
