Ladybugs

ladybugsCold weather brings frost, pumpkins, holiday sales and … ladybugs into homes. Ladybugs spend the winter in large groups under loose bark, in cracks in wood, or even indoors. Their family name, Coccinellidae, means red in Greek. Most of these dome-shaped insects are brightly colored with black spots, but they also can be orange, yellow, and spotless. Ladybug adults and larva eat other insects such as aphids, scale insects, mealybugs, and mites, so gently move these amicable beetles outdoors if you don’t want them in your house.
