Trees arrive from the exhibit fabricator's shop in sections like this one and are fitted together on site. Sculptors then blend the sections together with plaster and paint, eliminating seams.
A latex rubber mold lies across the final product - a recreated tree trunk. To ensure accuracy and detail, exhibit builders apply latex to trees, peel it off, and use the latex molds as sculptural models.
