Properties of Matter
Delve into the properties of matter by doing experi¬ments with buoyancy, mass, and density. Based on experiments by the ancient Greek scientist Archimedes, we will learn how objects heavier than water, like a cruise ship, can float on water. Using precision scales and other lab equipment we will measure displacement, create a density col¬umn, and learn how heat and cold affect the buoyancy of liquids and gases.
