Programs must be scheduled 6 weeks in advance.
Fee: 
Programs are free to North Carolina schools, with the exception of return shipping costs of teaching materials. Out of state schools pay an additional $65 program fee.

Meet Dr. Michelle Trautwein and learn about flies some of the most incredible and under-appreciated animals on the planet. Did you know we wouldn't have chocolate without flies? Learn more wonderful and fascinating facts about flies during this fun program! Students may explore their classrooms to find and identify our winged friends. They are welcome to share photos with the scientists.  

S.M.A.R.T.S. PROGRAM (Grades 3-12) (Scientists Making Answers Relevant for Teachers and Students.)  The S.M.A.R.T.S. program allows students to interact with a scientist and learn about their research. The programs are 30-45 minutes long and are offered on specified days, between 8:30am and 10:30am. They are interactive and support the North Carolina Science Essential Standards.

Registration: Schools must have some form of videoconferencing equipment or software to participate. Programs must be scheduled 6 weeks in advance.
