Are all of the team members fluent in the local language?

— a 12th grade student from Carteret County

No, but we have several interpreters and many Spanish-English dictionaries.


Are the volcanoes, Imababura and Cotacachi, active?

— a preschooler in Dare County and a high school student in Orange County

Of the two volcanoes we saw on June 30, Imbabura is not active, but Cotachachi erupted last in 1999.


What do the people there eat for lunch?

— a 4th grade student from Transylvania County

Most Ecuadorians eat soups, rice with beef or chicken stew, salad and a juice derived from the many different types of fruits that grow in Ecuador.
