Since 2004, select groups of North Carolina educators have joined a special collaboration in Ecuador, South America, between the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences and Heifer International.

The team of Museum educators and North Carolina teachers explores Ecuadorian ecosystems, from the high altiplano to the Pacific coast, and learns about the animals and people who live in these places.
