Bats: Beneficial, Beautiful, Bountiful, but Burdened

Get in the Halloween spirit and attend October’s Teen Science CafĂ© on bats! Lisa Gatens, Research Curator of Mammalogy at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences, will explain all you need to know about these spook-tacular winged mammals. Participants will learn about bat biology, conservation, diversity, echolocation, and more! Mark your calendar for Friday, October 20.

About Whiteville Teen Science Cafes

Teen Science Cafes offer an informal setting for teens to learn about STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics). Each Cafe features a professional speaking on a topic chosen by teens, an activity relating to the discussion, snacks, and time to network with other teens who enjoy science. Cafes are held the third Friday of the month, 5-6:30pm, September–May. Free. Teens must be picked up before 7pm.
