Whiteville: Teen Science Cafe: Alligators Near You

  • Friday, May 18, 2018
  • 5:00pm - 6:30pm

Conserving and Protecting Our Ancient Reptiles

Are you curious about the alligators living right here in North Carolina? Join us at Lake Waccamaw to observe these amazing creatures! Attendees will meet at the Visitor’s Center at Lake Waccamaw State Park: 1866 State Park Drive, Lake Waccamaw NC 28450.

This program will educate participants about alligator biology, reproductive behaviors, habitat needs, ecological roles and conservation significance while dispelling common myths and legends. Let’s walk on the wild side and see alligators in their natural habitats to observe normal behavior and discuss the threats humans pose to alligators which make them “dangerous.” All questions are welcome, resources provided, and closed-toed shoes encouraged.

Advance registration for this free event is recommended, but not required, at www.tinyurl.com/TSCwhiteville.
