Dinosaur Bones: Puzzle Pieces in the Evolution of Life

Paleontology Lab & Research Collections

Go behind the scenes in the Museum’s Paleontology lab and research collections on this one-hour guided tour, led by Head of Paleontology Lindsay Zanno, Chief Preparator Aaron Giterman, Collections Manager Trish Weaver and Collections Technician Jacob Van Veldhuizen. Get your questions answered by our resident experts and enjoy special access to normally restricted areas of the Museum. Examine dinosaur bones, hear about the latest discoveries in the field, and get a close-up view of the daily work of paleontologists.

Paleontology Tour Sessions

Friday, October 6

  • Tour Group 1: 10:00am-11:00am | Register
  • Tour Group 2: 11:00am-12:00pm | Register

Saturday, October 7

Check-in will begin no earlier than 30 minutes prior to your registered tour time at the 121 West Jones Street entrance. Each session is limited to 12 members and will last about 60 minutes. Please allow for a few minutes of transition time between sessions.

Fee: Free, but registration and a current Museum membership are required.

Please note the following safety precautions:

  • Children must be 5 years old or older to participate and must be accompanied by an adult.
  • No food or drink allowed.
  • No strollers please.
