Get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Biodiversity Research Lab, where you can get your questions answered by our resident experts and enjoy special access to a normally restricted area of the Museum. Join Assistant Head of the Biodiversity Lab Caren Cooper, Curator of Mammals Lisa Gatens, and NC eMammal Volunteer Coordinator Lexy Mash to learn more about the latest biodiversity research being conducted and citizen science projects in the fields of mammalogy (mammals) and ornithology (birds), as well as the equipment used.

Check-in will begin no earlier than 30 minutes before your registered tour time at the 121 West Jones Street entrance. Each session is limited to 20 members and will last about 45 minutes. Please allow for a few minutes of transition time between sessions.

Fee: Free, but registration and a current Museum membership are required.

Please note the following:

  • All ages welcome.
  • No food or drink allowed.
  • No strollers please.
