Lifelong Hike: Green Swamp

  • Wednesday, September 13, 2017
  • 7:00am - 7:00pm

Venus fly-traps, pitcher plants and colorful orchids dot the grassy landscape under the dappled shade of Longleaf Pines in this Nature Conservancy Preserve. Get a sense of what the original expanses of Longleaf Pine forests in the Southeast looked like to early settlers in one of the best examples of a Longleaf Pine Savannah remaining in North Carolina.
