Enjoy a long weekend exploration of the birds, wildflowers, wildlife, streams, geology, folklore and plants of this spectacularly beautiful area on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Stream exploration, salamander hikes, wildflower walks, speakers, entertainment, late-night stargazing, and much more highlight this laid-back learning adventure scheduled for the peak of the spring wildflower season in the mountains. The Wildacres Retreat Center, on its’ own heavily wooded peak and adjoining the Pisgah National Forest, is the base for all activities, and features first-class meals, rooms, and meeting spaces. This is a program of Discovery Place, a science museum in Charlotte, NC.
