Exploring DNA

Investigate the molecule responsible for life as we know it in this hands-on program. This program culminates with participants extracting DNA molecules – millions of them – from wheat germ.

Note: This class ties into our Featured Exhibit, RACE: Are We So Different, which ends Oct 22nd.  Participants are invited and encouraged to visit this FREE exhibit with their families after class.

  • Fee: $10 per participant. $7.50 Friends of the Museum (plus tax)
  • Requirements: Minimum age 8 (class is geared towards upper elementary). Parents do not need to attend the class with their child but do need to remain in the Museum.
  • Cancellation Notice: This program is subject to cancellation if a minimum number of participants is not met. Refunds will only be given if this program is canceled by the Museum. Notice of cancellation will be given via email, at least 72 hours in advance.
