Artspace at the Museum: Animal Drawing and Painting

  • Thursday, January 14, 2016
  • 6:00pm - 8:30pm

Meet local artist Anna Podris and create a nature painting.  We will learn the basics of animal drawing and practice our skills drawing from real specimens. Working from our favorite drawings, we will create an expressive animal painting using acrylic paint. We’ll practice composition, color mixing and color harmonies to create a painting of an animal (or animals) in their own habitat.

Registration includes a $5 off coupon for the Extreme Mammals exhibit.

About the Instructor

Anna Podris, an artist with Artspace, earned her BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design. Her paintings always include: people, plants, animals, or buildings. Using this imagery, she creates quirky and mythic narratives. Unexpected color combinations along with a love of pattern are elements that denote her unique style of painting. Podris is committed to the transcendental nature of art.
