    The Museum was awarded a $50,000 grant from Time Warner Cable on Sunday. The two-year grant will help to support the Museum’s Girls in Science program, which serves nearly 200 sixth and seventh grade girls by providing hands-on activities in the natural sciences through special projects, activities at site-based clubs for girls.

    In April, North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences’ educator Bob Alderink was honored as the Outstanding Informal Educator in Science, Mathematics and Technology Education by the North Carolina Science, Mathematics and Technology Education Center. In its 10-year history, this is the first year the Center has honored an informal educator.

    On Saturday, April 16, the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Raleigh holds its 4th annual Planet Earth Celebration. This year, the Museum will be hosting a special presentation, “The Military Goes Green: Cutting Back on Fossil Fuels to Save Lives and Billions of Dollars,” at 1pm in the main auditorium.
