The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences celebrates the Sun at International SUNday on Sunday, June 21 from 1 to 5 p.m. Come join Museum astronomers and Raleigh Astronomy Club members for an afternoon of solar viewing, enlightening presentations, and activities for all ages. Learn about the latest research on our illuminating solar giant, discover the Sun’s important place as the super-hot center of our Solar System, and see how our very own star plays a key role in maintaining life on Earth.

    RALEIGH — Hikers, lace up your boots and get ready to journey through the Triangle’s extensive nature trails during the second annual Triangle Volksmarch on Saturday, June 6, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This self-paced hike for all ages celebrates National Trails Day and is hosted by the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, the North Carolina Museum of Art, North Carolina State University, Raleigh Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources, and William B. Umstead State Park.
