About Us

For the second year in a row the NC Museum of Natural Sciences has been named a finalist for the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) National Medal. This award is the nation’s highest honor bestowed upon museums and libraries that exemplify community service and make a difference for individuals, families, and communities.

Did you grow up visiting the NC Museum of Natural Sciences, or do you bring your children here? Did an event, exhibit or program inspire you to pursue a career in science? Do you have a favorite photo taken at the Museum, perhaps of the Acrocanthosaurus or the SECU Daily Planet globe? Were you engaged or married here? If you love the Museum, we want to hear from you!

Please share how the Museum has made a difference in your life by posting on the IMLS Facebook page between now and April 11. It’s super easy! Just click the link below and post your story, picture or video. And thanks!
