Science Cafe: Corn Deconstructed: Kernels of Truth
Few plants are as important to our culture and society as corn. After being domesticated from its wild relatives long ago and now in modern times being further genetically modified, this plant has become an integral part of myriad products important to our agricultural economy. Join us to learn about current research involving corn plants, and learn what the future holds for a product found everywhere in our modern lives, from sweeteners to biofuels. As an extra treat: Popcorn and corn dishes will be featured in the café that evening!
